The Importance of Consistent Exercise

When you are young, you take for granted your ability to participate in any physical activity without dealing with injury or increase soreness. As we get older, we have to be careful jumping into a physical activity our body has never done before or has not done in a long time to prevent injury. Exercising at least three times a week for at a minimum of twenty minutes per session will add to your life by keeping you involved in the activities you love and help you avoid injury along the way. Try incorporating cardio vascular exercise, strengthening exercise, and flexibility exercise. If you don’t know where to start, you can always ask advice from your physical therapist at Harbor PT to get you on the right track. It is best to start slow and build in intensity and duration of exercise as you get stronger.
